I'll keep this review short and sweet. This new Yamaha receiver so far has been a real winner. I've mated it with my Paradigm in-wall high end speakers, and results have been quite good.
First off, the natural sound of this unit is quite apparent, not surprising for a Yamaha. The ergonomics are excellent, and the YPAO sound optimization system really did a nice a nice job dialing in my room acoustics.
However, the best part of this receiver is something that I should not have had to wait this long for: The HDMI connectivity issues I've had over the years with my two video displays and FIOS DVR are finally gone! The switching is fast, both displays work perfectly, and my DVR does not reset it's resolution (See my prior review of an older Yamaha Receiver to get an idea of what I've had to put up with.
Great Sound + Great Connectivity + Great Features + Great Value = 5 stars!
