We were all impressed by the screen, the speed, and the simplicity of the design...at first. After 4 months, though, we played our first DVD. It was really loud and had a hard time playing the movie. We had to re-insert the DVD several times to get it to work. It sounded like it was about to go out. Then, about a month later, the computer started locking up. It was intermittent at first. Then, it started locking up regularly. It even did it in safe mode. So, after a number of calls to Sony, they said they had decided to replace the bios and memory. I believed them (naively). They sent a box, and we sent it off to have the memory and bios replaced.
When I got it back from the service center, I was shocked to see that the hard drive had been wiped clean. I pulled out the service ticket. They had not replaced anything! They just wiped the hard drive clean and sent it back to me! I co uld have done that myself! After several calls to Sony, I have been informed...
